UHN’s +300 Green team members and a lot more people around the world are celebrating the 42nd annual Earth Day. Come visit us at the various lobby booths and join in the earth-friendly fun. We also have a gorgeous (and I’m not just saying that because I made it) Earth Day at UHN poster to promote this in your area (and recycle it later, natch).

 When:  Thursday, April 19th, 11 AM – 2 PM

 Where:  Lobby Booths

  • PMH Atrium Lobby
  • TGH Eaton Lobby
  • TWH Atrium Lobby

 What’s Happening?

  • Trees for Toonies: buy a sapling and plant it at home
  • Take the Green Pledge: takes a second and lasts a lifetime
  • Green Tea: after the pledge, grab a bag (or buy one for a quarter)
  • Energy Display: see LEDs up close and personal
  • Recycle your phone: Bring in any and all old phones/blackberries  (wiped of confidential info of course), and we’ll recycle them
  • Check out our Displays – Ever been confused on how to recycle properly? Want to save energy, but not sure how? This is for you.

 And a little Friendly Competition:

Several hospitals are doing a simultaneous Earth Day Event with UHN: Mt. Sinai, TEGH, St. Mike’s, St. Joe’s, CAMH & Trillium. Between all of us, we hope 1,000 staff will take the Green Pledge. Let’s make UHN the number one Green Pledge Zone! Not that we’re competitive, but…

Happy Earth Day Everyone!

P.S. for those at home, you can also celebrate Earth Day on the actual day, Sunday April 22. We thought about doing our work event on the actual day, but for some mysterious reason, it’s hard to get people to voluntarily come in on a Sunday. Funny that.
