Since the first eco-friendly festivity on April 22, 1970, Earth Day has gained momentum around the globe. Now, more than ever, the planet we share could use a little love, respect and celebration. Here at UHN, led by the Energy & Environment Department and the 700-strong UHN green team, we will celebrate for a supersized week (or two of them, to be exact) stretching from April 20 – May 3 (handy printable (and recyclable) schedule below).
NEW! SEEDLINGS!
Enjoy the infamous and interactive traveling lobby booth, made of reused and recycled materials. Here you can vote for your favorite in the Light Switch Plate Design Contest, play the Recycling Rescue Game, Stop Drop & Swap and more. Yes, there will be prizes.
This year, we have also partnered with our friends at SickKids and Sinai Health Systems to bring you the pollinator talks. This means that if you cannot attend it at your site, you are welcome to go next door to experience it there (staff, volunteers, patients, and caregivers welcome).
For pollinator talks at all sites, see our poster here…
NEW!!! Our friends at Wellness, in partnership with Let’s Craft It! are crafting some green cleaning!

More events and ideas at Earth Day Canada
P.S. other earthy events include the Earth Day March for Science with a biggie in Washington, and more marches around the globe including one here in Toronto. Instead of pink hats, I suggest green lab coats.
