The Freezer Challenge is a program organized by the nonprofits My Green Lab and the International Insitute for Sustainable Laboratories (I2SL). It is a unique initiative that invites laboratories from all over the world to participate in a competition to reduce energy consumption and promote sustainability in research labs. It’s a great opportunity to show off your lab’s skills while doing your part to help the planet. The challenge runs until July 1st, 2023. Join any time before June 2023!
How Scoring Works
So, what’s the challenge all about? It’s simple: the goal is to implement optimal cold storage management practices. The competition covers all forms of cold storage—including refrigerators, freezers, and cold rooms. Labs participating in the challenge are asked to submit an online score sheet. Freezer Challenge participants can earn points by taking any combination of actions that fall under good management practices, temperature tuning and cutting edge practices.
